Water Roads was born from a simple observation: the world's most congested cities are often surrounded by underutilized waterways. While roads and rail networks struggle with capacity constraints and require billions in infrastructure investment, our harbours and rivers remain largely untapped for mass transit.
Founded as a CBS Group initiative, Water Roads combines decades of infrastructure expertise with cutting-edge electric hydrofoil technology. We're not just building a ferry service—we're creating a new category of urban mobility that's faster, cleaner, and more cost-effective than traditional transport solutions.
Our vision is to transform waterways into high-frequency metro-style transit corridors in cities around the world, starting with Sydney in 2026.

To revolutionise transport infrastructure by establishing metro-level transport connections via waterways, using zero-emission foiling vessels to cut energy use by 85%, reduce travel time, and avoid billions in infrastructure costs across global cities.
Our goal is to provide a sustainable and efficient transport solution for water-bound cities around the world, starting in Sydney, Australia.
We are uniquely positioned to address the challenges of congested, growing waterfront cities worldwide. From Sydney to Stockholm, Hong Kong to New York, hundreds of cities face the same challenge: waterways surrounded by congested roads and prohibitively expensive rail expansion. Water Roads offers these cities a third option—one that's faster to deploy, more cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable.
